Our birds
Before there was a business there were four birds. They are the reason this house does what it does. Today the house flock is seven: two budgies, two finches, a canary and two conures — the birds yours will be meeting.
Where It Started
The First Four
In the order they arrived, starting in 2019.

Matcha, 2019 01The Genesis · 2019
Matcha The Budgie
Matcha was my first bird, back in 2019. She was a feisty two-year-old budgie, born in 2017, but she slowly grew to trust me before she sadly passed away. She was my inspiration to continue my passion to care for birds, and ultimately start Bird Sitting Toronto.

Maui, 2020 02November · 2020
Maui The Budgie
Maui was the next addition to the flock, as I felt that Matcha needed a friend. Maui was really a friendly budgie and gave me the chance to see that Matcha could bond well with other birds. She unfortunately passed shortly after Maui came, and Maui was alone for a short while before we got Mango.

Mango, 2020 03December · 2020
Mango The Budgie
Mango was a younger budgie, we got him at a few weeks old so that he could befriend Maui after Matcha left us. A very jolly, happy bird - Mango brings lots of joy to any bird he interacts with! Maui and Mango became completely inseparable.

Miko, 2021 04May · 2021
Miko The Conure
Miko was our first baby Conure, and our fourth addition to our flock. We got her as a wedding gift to ourselves in May. The moment we brought her home she bonded to us so well, she is definitely a part of our family flock. Maui and Mango both were a bit skeptical about her at first, but her curious nature and otherwise quirky personality won everyone in our flock over. We thought Miko was a boy for years, until a DNA test told us she is a girl.

After Miko, the next birds came from inside the flock: Mango and Maui became parents.
“I thought this had completed my flock, however Mango and Maui had hit it off so well that they had four baby budgies, named Algarve, Alesso, Asia, and Achilles. Raising these baby birds was an incredible experience.”

And Then, Apollo
05
Apollo is a conure. He first came to us in February 2022 for a nail and wing trim, then came back to stay while his papers to move to the United States were finished. Part of that paperwork was a leg band, with a photo of it sent in with his application.
Then the move fell through, and he was going to be left without a home. By then he and Miko were best friends, so Samantha adopted him without a second thought.
“Miko had befriended our temporary resident, Apollo. They became so close that they were now a role model pair.”
