Does a sitter come to my house, or does my parrot come to you?

Parrot boarding and parrot sitting in Toronto

Your parrot stays with us for the trip. Nobody visits your house, and if the drive is the hard part, our shuttle does it for you — booked well ahead with your stay.

The short answer

No Home Visits, Ever.

Your parrot comes to us. We do not do in-home visits — nobody lets themselves into your house while you are away — and if driving is hard, the avian shuttle, booked well ahead with your stay, collects and returns your bird across the GTA for a fee quoted on the distance.

The shuttle is booked on the client portal with your stay, well in advance, and confirmed with you ahead of the day. It is quoted separately from the stay, by the distance to you. Book the avian shuttle.

My Parrot Is Not One Of These

For large macaws, please contact us first. These 8 species have their own page because those are the ones we have enough of our own data on to write something true about; a bird that is not on the list above is not a bird we do not take.

Parrot Owners Ask Us

Do you come to my house to look after my parrot?

No. Every stay happens here, at our house in Mississauga — nobody lets themselves into your home while you are away. If the drive is the problem rather than the arrangement, the avian shuttle will collect your parrot and bring it back; it is booked on the client portal with your stay, well in advance, confirmed with you ahead of the day, and quoted separately from the stay, by the distance to you.

Will my parrot be in with other parrots?

It has its own cage and never shares one with a bird it does not already live with at home. Out of the cage it is kept away from birds that could hurt it — a parrotlet does not share floor time with a large parrot, which is for the parrotlet's benefit rather than the other bird's. Bonded pairs stay together throughout.

My parrot only likes me, and it bites everyone else. Is that a problem?

No, and it is more common than you would think. A bird does not have to be handled to be fed, watered, cleaned for and given time out of its cage, and nobody here will force it. Tell us on the registration form so that the first person to open the cage already knows.

Will my parrot scream the whole time it is there?

Conures are the species we see most of, and they usually settle within about 48 hours, with the first day the loudest. Most parrots follow the same shape. It helps that yours is rarely the only one of its kind in the house.

Do you board the big parrots — greys, amazons, macaws?

Birds of every size, from finches and budgies up to African greys, amazons, eclectus and cockatoos. For large macaws, please contact us first.

Can I board my parrot for just one day?

Yes. There is no minimum stay and a single day is a normal booking, priced the same as any other day. If you want the details of how a day works, that is on the bird daycare page.

1,500+ birds and 3,000+ stays since 2021.
