When It Is More Than The Card Says

Statutory holidays

Roughly $5 to $10 extra per bird, per statutory holiday inside your dates. A fixed amount, not a percentage.

Peak season

Book early and you always pay the ordinary price. Only last-minute bookings in our busiest weeks — the Christmas and August holidays, when we are close to capacity — cost 5–20% more.

When is peak season?

Our peak windows are the Christmas holidays and the August holidays. This is a percentage on the stay and the holiday charge is a fixed amount per bird. They are worked out separately and never added into one figure.

What The Day Rate Already Covers

  • Photos and video of your bird every day, in the BST Mobile App or by email
  • Daily out-of-cage time
  • Food changed daily, fresh water all day
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables you provide, given daily
  • Your bird's own routine, kept as close as we can

Extras, if you want them

What each extra covers
  • Fresh chop, made here: On top of whatever food you send with your bird.
  • We supply the food: Only if you would rather not send any. Sending your own is better for the bird.
  • Medication administered: Given on your schedule, however many doses that is.
  • Extra out-of-cage time: On top of the out-of-cage time every stay already includes.
  • Cage rental: 15 cages, each individually priced by the model rather than by the bird.
  • Nail clipping during the stay: One appointment, not a daily charge. Other grooming is priced the same as a standalone visit.

Cage models are listed one by one on the cage rental page, and every service we price is on the pricing page.

Cost Questions We Get Asked

What does the typical stay cost — how long is a typical stay?

A typical stay with us is about 8 nights. For 8 nights the published card gives a bracket rather than one number — between $104.75 and $118 for a small bird, and between $209.75 and $238 for an extra-large one. The quote form gives you the exact figure for your dates.

Is a day of daycare cheaper than an overnight stay?

No — a day is billed at the same per-bird day rate, from $14.75. There is no separate daycare rate and no minimum number of days, so the only thing that changes is what time you collect.

Are the prices per bird or per cage?

Per bird. Two birds that already live together can share one cage and the second one is discounted — 50% off an additional small bird, 25% off an additional medium or larger one — so a pair of budgies in one cage is $22.13 a day rather than $29.50. Birds that do not already live together are never put in one cage, at any price.

Is grooming included in the boarding price?

No, it is charged separately, and it is the same price whether your bird is staying with us or coming in for an appointment on its own. Nail clipping is $30, wing clipping $40, beak trimming $40 and DNA sexing $90.

What if my flight is delayed and I collect a day late?

Tell us as soon as you know. Extra nights are charged at the published rate for your bird's size and there is no penalty for extending a stay — the thing that matters is that we know, because the space after your dates may already be spoken for.

How do I get an exact number rather than a bracket?

The quote form. It asks the bird, its size and your dates — the three things the total depends on — and comes back with a real figure and whether we have the space. It is faster than a phone call because it asks everything at once. You can also text 647-490-7156.
